Fishing effectively
for big carp all year round can mean carrying a lot of kit, whether bait in
summer or clothing and hardware in the winter. Carp barrows take the aches
and pains out of transporting your kit to distant pegs or over difficult
ground, and make nosing around when you arrive or moving swims less of a
hassle to keep you one step ahead of those fish. Once you’ve used one you’ll
never have a rucksack on your back again. BARROWS TIPS & TECHNIQUES
1. Load barrows with as much weight as possible over the wheels at the
front. This helps make the barrow balance better and less tiring to lift and
push.
2. Bedchairs should always be put on a barrow first. They make great load
carrying bases and will be the last piece
of kit you need when setting up for an overnight trip
3. Buckets can be slid down the handles of barrows to prevent any danger of
spillage over clothes or your bedchair and sleeping bag. This also creates
extra space on top of the barrow for tackle.
4. Elasticated bungee straps can be attached across the frame to secure your
load around corners and over rough ground. Loose elasticated straps can be
very dangerous, attach them carefully.
