All reels also feature Shimano’s A-RB stainless steel ball bearings, Super Stopper to eliminate back play and enable solid hook-sets...		   2-SPEED GEARING2-SPEED GEARING
This shifting mechanism is designed so that gearing changes are quick and easy, even when fighting a fish. The low gear ratio used for high-power retrieves is selected by pushing the button on the base of the handle.  Return to the high-speed ratio by sliding the release button along the handle shank. By using two sets of gears, the drive and pinion gears are always engaged. There is no gear meshing during the shift.

CLICKER
Increases the tension on Freespool and activates a clicking alarm when a fish bites.

METAL SERIES
Metal frames keep moving parts in precise alignment for increased efficiency and durability.

CHROME PLATED SIDEPLATE SCREWS
The sideplate screws are chrome plated to prevent corrosion between the screws and sideplate.

RATCHETING DRAG LEVER
Eliminates the chance of the drag lever backing off due to boat vibration, and the detents serve as a reference point as to how much the drag has been increased or reduced.

TWIN PAWL ANTI-REVERSE SYSTEM
Uses two pawls for increased reliability and durability along with hook setting power.

ADJUSTABLE CLICKER
This clicker system allows the angler to adjust the amount of freespool tension while the clicker is on.

RAPID FIRE
Allows anglers to change the drag cam on the reel within seconds. This system changes the drag curve on the reel to cater for specific techniques or fisheries. Reels equipped with the Rapid Fire system come standard with a Long Range Special (L.R.S.) curve, and up to 7 other Rapid Fire cams are available as accessories.

WATERPROOF DRAG
With the use of rubber gaskets, the drag is protected against intrusion of water or sand.

SHIMANO TORSA MULTIPLIERSTORSA MULTIPLIERS
Torsa can be summed up as speed, power, durability and castability. When developing the Torsa, Shimano engineers succeeded in designing different types of drag cams, which can be put on the reel to create different drag curves. Eight drag cams are available, all with very different characteristics.

The Tyrnos II benefits from many of the same features but also has the ability to swiftly change from high to low gear and then back again thanks to its 2 speed gearing - a massive advantage in many off shore angling situations.

TLD MULTIPLIERS
There is little to write about the Shimano TLD range of reels that has not already been written. Each year more and more manufacturers attempt (and fail!) to copy Shimano’s original design for a lightweight lever drag reel, confirming that it was Shimano who, over almost two decades ago now, originally got it right!
